Follow my blog with BloglovinYayyy! It’s One Room Challenge reveal day!!! For the last 6 weeks I’ve been sharing peeks into my niece’s nursery, everything from the painting by my great grandma that inspired it all, to the ADORABLE rainbow arch wall treatment. And this week is the reveal!!

So let’s get into it!

This is where we started, a plain Mandi White room that was storage overflow and packed to the brim.

We got it all cleared out and started by hand painting rainbow arches on the walls. It is such an easy DIY, you can 100% tackle it on a Saturday!! We used 2 colors of Sherwin-Williams Emerald interior paint (Mandi White and Softened Green) and mixed them to get the varying colors!!

And now that it’s all done, this is how it looks!

It’s so colorful and perfect!

The crib, dresser, and rug are all from Overstock! You can read all about why I chose each one here! I love how the different styles make the room feel collected and special!

My favorite thing in the whole room is the DIY pressed flower mobile.

While we were in France I picked and pressed a few different types of flowers, and sandwiched them between acrylic discs.

The black and white print is a photograph that my Great Grandma took that I blew up and hung behind the crib. That guy on the pier with all of the fishing gear is my Great Grandpa.

The plant I used is an Audrey Ficus and MAN is it good. It’s a cousin to the Rubber Plant and Fiddle Leaf Fig, and it’s velvet green leaves are magical. I can’t wait to teach you guys all about how to care for it!!

Planter | Large Print | Rocker (similar) | Pillow | Throw | Lamp | Shelf Bracket

Of course, no Vintage Revivals room would be complete without some serious plant love. All of the plants that I used love indirect light and will be so happy in here!!

This cute boho inspired DIY macrame, wood, and brass wall decor has a secret! It doubles as storage for your glasses!! In this post I’m going to show you step by step how to make your own in less than 15 minutes!

Hey hey!! I am so excited to share today’s project! I feel like the last 2 years we’ve been in the thick of renovations and doing big/structural/forever projects, and while that is fun, there is seriously no better feeling than doing a quick DIY that looks like a million bucks!

My partners for this project Zenni (you’ve heard of Zenni right? Killer prescription glasses at insanely low prices? Like $10 low ?!) challenged me to create a storage solution for 10 pairs of their cute glasses and man it felt great to get the creative juices flowing again! So glasses storage, what does that look like?! We obviously were not going to go the optician office route. My first thought was to do some sort of box, but that seemed kind of meh. The next idea was to do a mini version of my giant pegboard, but it just didn’t feel right. I needed something more special.

What I ultimately came up with is something that looks like art, but can double as storage. We are checking allll the form + function boxes today friend!

Supplies You’ll Need:

18″ Quilting Hoop (You will only be using the interior hoop for this project!)
Brass Tubing
22 Gauge Wire
3/16″ Cotton Cord Rope (10 yards)

Tools You’ll Need:

Pipe Cutter
Drill + 1/8″ Bit
Small Level
Hammer + Small Nails

Step 1: Cut your pipe

Using your pipe cutter, or a metal cut off blade on your saw, cut your brass pipe to the following lengths (2) 24″ and (4) 20″ . If you use a saw blade, you’ll probably need to clean up the rough edges a little. Be aware that they can have little burrs on them that are sharp!

Step 2: Drill Through Your Hoop

We want to create 2 parallel lines with our ” brass pipe through the hoop. The easiest way to do this is to mark and drill one side of the hoop.

Then slide your tube through to the other side and using the level mark where the second hole needs to be drilled. Our pipe is 1/8″ so that is the size of the drill bit that you will want to use!

To mark your second set of holes, measure up from the first hole 6″ and mark. Then repeat the first step where you drill the hole, use the level, mark and drill the second hole. The distance should be the same between the sets of holes.

Step 3: Make the Brass Triangles

In step 3 you are going to use the remaining pieces of brass to create triangles. Thread your wire through all 3 pieces, twist them together and push the wire tails back into the pipe. This is a really important step, if you just trim them they wont have enough strength to hold the weight and shape of our piece, especially when it’s loaded up with all of the cute glasses from Zenni!

Step 4: Cut the Rope

Cut the rope for your macrame into 18″ pieces

Step 5: Add the Rope

Adding the rope for macrame is SO EASY! Fold your rope in half, place the folded section over the top of the brass tube (from the front, folding over the back)

Pull the rope through the loop that was created when you folded it and tighten it against the brass pipe! Ta Da!!! You’re basically a macrame maven!

Repeat 9 times.

*Optional* Cut the 4 outside pieces 24″ long and tie some basic knots to add more detail to the front of your piece!

Step 6: Hang!

When you are hanging your piece, you’ll want to hang it from the top triangle, and also add a nail just under the horizontal brass piece that is holding the rope to keep it from sagging a little.

You can add up to 16 pairs of glasses to your piece and believe me when you see all of the awesome frames that Zenni has you’re going to die. When you see that you can order 10 pairs for the price you would spend on a single pair elsewhere you miiiiight go a little overboard like I did. They just released a bunch of new styles, and if you are on the hunt for some fun tortoise shell frames, they have got SO MANY GOOD ONES!

Happy making!

I am on a serious Nativity kick this year (remember my post last week?)

Black and White Modern Nativity Print with Balsa Wood Frame and Yarn Tassel Garland

In all of my hunting I found a really great piece from Clinton Whiting. It wasn’t available for sale on his site and I was super bummed. So I decided to go our on a limb and email him and see if he had it available for sale off his site. He didn’t (SAD!) so I did what any good blogger would do, I asked him if he would let me list it in my shop for a limited run. I was OVER THE MOON when he agreed (you can download the limited edition print for just $12 here!) and couldn’t wait to get it up in our sad decor-less house (remember we’re living at the inlaws old house while we renovate the Merc and all of their stuff is gone and all of our stuff is in storage so….)

The other dilem was that I had no tools. Heavens I don’t even think we have a pair of scissors. So I had to get creative and go back to the early days of Vintage Revivals DIY for which I can vouch were both horrendous and sort of ingenious. If you don’t have tools, but can wield a fierce glue gun this project is right up your alley!

To make this project you’ll need:

(2) 4″x36″ Pieces of Balsa Wood (snag this at Joann or Michaels, it’s WAY cheaper than buying it online!)
(2) Large Grommets
Rope
Poster board*
Print

To save some cash I had this printed as a large format print (where it’s basically printed on normal paper, just really big normal paper) Large format prints run around $2.00 so they are a great money saving option! The problem is that the paper is very flimsy and needs some stability. I wrapped mine around a piece of poster board and it worked great, but if you want you can have it *printed on higher quality paper and it will kill 2 birds with one stone.

I printed mine out at 20×30″, you can have it printed almost any size you want though!

I started by wrapping the print around the posterboard and gluing it in place.

Mounting A Print to Posterboard using a Hot Glue Gun

Measure and cut the balsa wood so that it hangs over 1″ past the edge of your print.

Balsa Wood Exacto Knife

Glue the balsa wood to the front of your print (make sure its centered!!) on the top and bottom.

Gluing Balsa Wood To Print Making a 5 Minute Balsa Wood Picture Frame

Measure 4″ from the edge of the balsa wood and mark. Then measure the center point on your wood (mine was 2″ because the wood is 4″ thick). Repeat on the other side

Tape Measure, Pencil and Print to Mark Holes for Rivets

Firmly press the face of the grommet into the balsa wood. The wood is soft enough that it will push all the way through! Not a tool in sight!!

Grommet Punch Out

The balsa wood holds the grommet in place. I chose not to set it (by putting the back on) because I didn’t want to dent the front of the wood.

Feed your rope through the grommets and knot them.

Threading Rope Through Grommet on Modern Nativity Frame

Hang and enjoy!!

Hanging Black and White Nativity Print

Close Up of Black and White Nativity Print

Black and White Nativity Print Download

How easy was that?!! Guys, let me just tell you how great it felt actually completing a project, I was on cloud 9 the rest of the day!! Man alive I can’t wait until we’re in the Merc!

Snag your print here before they’re gone!!

Hey friends!

Next week is National Painting Week with Sherwin-Williams®!! It’s one of my favorite weeks of the year (and favorite motivators to get projects done!) National Painting Week is an annual celebration dedicated to the transformative power of paint and color in our homes and communities. I have teamed up with Sherwin-Williams and participated in National Painting Week for the past few years (since 2013!) by making over spaces in my local community (you can see our playhouses from last year here, and my favorite room of all time here!) This year I worked with The Learning Center for Families (TLC). TLC is a local non-profit that blesses the lives of SO MANY families. They offer support and education for families with kids who have special needs, are lower income, ESL (English Second Language), and more. They teach classes for parents, have playgroups for kids, and really try to help families that need it. What an awesome thing right?! I was so excited when they let me loose in one of their playrooms. This is where it started:

And this is what it looks like now:

Because the room is used for little kids I wanted something that was fun and a little over-the-top playful. I had a general idea of the colors I wanted to use so I went into my local Sherwin-Williams store and started picking swatches. Here’s a little insight into my process.

1. Take all the swatches that are remotely in the color that you want

2. Fan them out on a table.

3. Start picking your favorites and create a new fan with those guys.

The winning colors are (from left to right) Marooned SW 6020, Oceanside SW 6496 (the color of the year! You can see how I used it in another room here!!) Innocence SW 6302, Jasper Stone SW 9133, Determined Orange SW 6635, Gambol Gold SW 6690, Wondrous Blue SW 6807, and of course “Mandi White” (Not an official color but you can get the recipe for the perfect white here!)

Colorful Kids Playroom Makeover! Complete with Rainbow Stripes, Vintage Wooden Play Furniture, and Easy Art!

I started by clearing everything out of the room and painting. Painting stripes can be a pretty tedious process, especially if you do it the right way. And with all of the stripes happening here, it was super important to do it the right way.

Most walls (especially in the western US as we found!) have wall texture on them. I don’t care if you’re using blue or green painters tape, if you have wall texture you’ll still have bleeding, unless you use my trick.

I started by painting the upper half of the walls in the playroom with Mandi White. Once that paint was dry, I marked off my stripe. Then before I used my new color, I put some white on the edge of the tape. The white bleeds underneath so that when I use my accent color, that space has already been filled, but because it’s the same color as my wall, you don’t notice and it looks like a perfect stripe. Cool right? Notice in the below picture that the vertical stripes are painted, then you can see the tape, and then the paint color again? That is because after I painted the stripes, I taped off the next set (the ones in between) and bled the original stripe color, so that I could paint the other colors on. Make sense?

It’s not usually a big deal to do this step, but because I have so many colors and they’re all touching it took a while. So worth it.

One quirky thing about the space that we had to work with was the windows. As you can see in the before pictures, they had a picket fence in front of them to meet state code. Well, instead of using the fence, we built a quick book ledge that met the height requirement and turned it into something functional and much better looking.

Hey hey!! I’m back today with all the delicious details of the guest room makeover I did for my sister Amy! Now, I’ll be the first to admit that I wish there was more DIY involved, but this was done totally weekend warrior style so while there is some, a lot of it can be sourced (which is great if you’re not that into DIY.)

First lets start with the wall color. Last week we announced that Sherwin-Williams 2018 Color of the Year is Oceanside. Its a really deep teal that’s a little bit on the blueish side.

I recruited my best helpers (sorry Court) and we knocked the painting out. One thing to note, when you’re using really dark colors, especially ones that are in the green family, you’re definitely going to need more than one coat of paint, with Amy’s room we did 2 + touchups where it needed more.

The dark wall was the perfect backdrop for the Macrame bed. For the last year, even trip to IKEA left me wanting this bed. It was just screaming for a custom macrame headboard right?!

bed | sconce | shelf | tree | pillow | light | rug | stool

While we were at IKEA we scored the cabinet in the As-Is section for next to nothing!

letter board | print | mirror | chair | pillow | cabinet

The mirror above the cabinet is the most basic of Target staples right now and I’m of the belief that everyone needs at least 2 in their house. The thin brass frame is just so fundamentally good. Like most weekend warrior projects, we did some scavenging and found these prints  that Amy had on hand from Society 6.

My heart just feels so happy with how great our Vintage Green letter board looks here!!

One of my favorite places to visit in Vegas is the West Elm outlet store. That’s where she got the great camel leather chair and a few things that are in the other rooms of the house. You can find really great pieces at fantastic prices, so check it our if you’re ever down there.

I LOVE white bedding. Like I don’t know if I’ve ever used anything else in a room makeover love. The reason? Because in what world would you be able to pair that wall color with that pillow AND have a colored duvet and live to tell the tale? It would not be a good combination. White makes it all play nice. I layered white sheets, a white throw, and a white duvet on the bed (all from IKEA).

The long lumbar pillow is made from a rug that got stuffed and whip stitched together. It grounds the wall with its muted muddy colors. Imagine how different it would feel if they were bright true tones? Totally different!! I also really love that its a single statement making pillow instead of a slew of different ones, it makes the bed making for guests less tetris-y.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re decorating guest room is that they don’t really need a lot of drawers. There is a closet at the foot of the bed, and the cabinet from IKEA, so we didn’t really need a nightstand. But we did need something. So used this simple shelf from Target that is a great place for a cup, a pair of glasses, or a phone to hang out while it charges.

I feel like we need a serious slow clap for that wall sconce from World Market, which is also where the ceiling light came from. So much goodness.

You may have heard it said on the interwebs before that the faux fiddle leaf from World Market is the best. I am here to add my big fat gold star that situation. It is HANDS DOWN the best that I’ve seen, and the price isn’t horrible! A real one in St. George at my local Home Depot runs anywhere from $79-$149 and usually dies within 4 months. This one is $179 and lives FOREVER!

The map on the wall was a craigslist score, the seller had a whole rack of them that I got for $350!! If I ever decide to sell a couple, you guys will be the first to know!

I love how this space turned out, especially that macrame bed. It is one of my favorite projects that I’ve done in a very long time!! The problem is that I just kind of made it up as I went, so I don’t really have a great tutorial for it. Would you guys be interested in a post with a round up of the knot styles that I used, even if its not the exact pattern? Or MAYBE if someone is a great macrame artist that makes patterns, you can email me and we can figure something out!?

Hey hey!! I’ve got a fun room makeover for you today! My sister Amy just moved to Vegas from Texas, and I can not even begin to tell you how wonderful that makes my heart feel. So naturally, I had to welcome her with a room makeover right?!

We decided to start off with her guest room, and going into it we were quite literally starting with a blank slate.

Using Sherwin-Williams® 2018 Color of the Year, Oceanside SW 6496 we turned it into this stunner:

Aren’t you so in love with that wall color?! When I found out that the 2018 Color of the Year was Oceanside my first thought was “well, that’s bold” and it is, but in a laid back enough way that everyone can pull it off! I paired it with Sherwin-Williams 2016 Color of the Year Alabaster SW 7008 (remember the baby’s nursery? Man I loved that room.), and it created this amazing balance between light and dark. I used Emerald® Interior   for the paint, I’ve got a whole post diving into paint sheen, but I used matte to minimize the wall texture as much as I could.

I didn’t use a ton of color anywhere else because the wall is the very clear star of the show. Just a little terra cotta here and there, mixed woods, and camel leather, with lots of greenery (and how great does the Vintage Green letter board look?!)

So lets dive into the design, shall we?

The bed. *Sigh* the first time we locked eyes in Ikea I knew it needed to be macramed within an inch of its life and I’ve been plotting ever since (it only goes up to a queen size, so that was my problem).

I LOVE how it turned out. The knots that I used are ultra basic, and anyone can do this project! I got the rope from Knot and Rope Supply and ordered a 600 ft spool. We ended up using about 1/2 of it for this project…which means another one is probably in my future, you know so I can stare and pet it every day.

Oceanside is such a commanding color, mixed with anything else remotely vibrant the space could go full on colorfest faster than you can say Punky. I pared it with a lot of muted colors. The oversized pillow on the bed is this rug from World Market and some stuffing! Check out how the geniuses at Sherwin-Williams created a space and got more complimentary color ideas!

On the wall by the window I used one of my vintage maps (remember when I used one in the $939 bathroom makeover?) These aren’t the kind of things that you just give up, so I figure if the people in my family have them than at least I know if I need to break in and steal it they likely won’t press charges…

Murfey Jean is a huge fan.

Full source list post is coming tomorrow!

HUGE thank you to Sherwin-Williams for partnering up with me on this fun project!!

Congratulations to Lauren Silveira for winning the social giveaway we hosted for the Color of the Year earlier this week! She won a design consultation from me, five gallons of Sherwin-Williams paint and a gift card from West Elm.

If you’d like additional inspiration for styling a room featuring Oceanside SW 6496, you can enlist some help from West Elm’s knowledgeable Design Crew to help select furniture, home accessories and more.

Tell me what you think the 2018 Color of the Year, do you think you could picture it in your house?!

YOU GUYS. I am dumbfounded. Thank you SO FREAKING MUCH for all of the support on the launch of my letter boards! I can’t believe how quickly they sold out. We’ve got more coming, so if your itching for one make sure you subscribe to my newsletter to be the first to know when they’re back in stock!

Now that everyone that ordered has them in your adorably creative hands, I’ve got some tips and tricks for you!

Ready? GO!

Tip #1: Use the smallest scissors available to cut the letters.

My cute sister spend 19 hours twisting every letter apart and ended up with sore fingers and 300 letters with teeny weird points on all of them. Don’t do that! Nail scissors are perfect, but if you’re like me and are just feeling lucky to find ANY pair, you’re going to be ok with those too!

Tip #2: Perfect Spacing with a String!! You know whats not fun? Working on something only to realize that its off-centered or spaced wrong and having to a) start over or b) have angry feelings and want to scream into a pillow everytime you look at it. There is a quick fix that is going to BLOW. YOUR. MIND.

Start by flipping your board over. Grab a tape measure and a pencil and mark the center of the frame both horizontally and vertically (you can also add other marks for different spacing!)

To perfect your spacing when you’re placing your letters tie a string around the board and line it up with your marks!

Brilliant right!?

Tip #3: Don’t set your letters until everything is spaced! Line them up and let them float until you get it just right. It saves you a ton of time if you have to shift them!

Tip #4: Embrace the lint roller!

Before you start placing your letters, give your board a quick once over with a lint roller to get rid of any fuzz, hairs, and all of the other random treasures that magically get left on every surface when people are around.

Tip #5: Give it a shave.

Hopefully none of you will ever have to do this, but if you ever find yourself in this situation know that all is not lost! One afternoon my darling daughter and her little friends were playing school at our house. Unbeknownst to me they were using my letter board as a chalk board. (Not a real one, just a pretend one) They weren’t writing on it, but they were using a paper towel to “erase” it. Over and over and over. They must have been learning Mandi math, cause there was a lot of starting over and erasing. So much so that the felt had started to get rolls on the surface. It looked SO bad and I had a moment of panic because it was the only board I had and I still had to shoot all my promo pics. It was then that I realized that my board, somewhat resembled my legs. If razors worked on my legs, maybe it would work on the board too. I honestly had nothing to lose, so I started shaving the board and it TOTALLY worked! All of the fuzz and pilling came right off and it looked brand new again!

We’ve got some REALLY amazing things coming down the pipeline and I’m still hoping to add a few more witty wordsmiths to my team! If you (or someone you know!) is a hilarious master of the english language, always has a movie quote ready to deploy, or has a fabulous way at looking at life, please shoot me an email with Wordsmith in the subject line! (vintagerevivalsblog@gmail.com)

Also! If you’re sharing your letter boards on social use the hashtag #ilikethewayyouwordit!!

See you guys tomorrow!

love your guts,
Mandi

Then I decided that I really needed one and went back and they were sold out.

The cycle repeated itself more than I care to admit.

So I decided to take matters into my own hands cause gosh dang it that’s what I do, and that brings us to THIS VERY EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT…..

You guys! I’m so excited to share this fun dining room makeover with you!! Before you keep scrolling I want you to close your eyes (I mean, not really ‘cause you have to read, but pretend to close your eyes.)

Picture Home Depot (just go with me on this). Picture all of the things that Home Depot is known for. Now buckle your seatbelt ‘cause you’re about to be blown away.

I’ve had the pleasure of teaming up with Youtube darling Aspyn Ovard for a complete overhaul of her house.

When we started out with not a lot. If you remember, her house is a new build and you could tell. In other words it was very basic and very empty. Her style is young, fresh, and a little mixed bohemian. I wanted the space to feel clean, eclectic, nothing super structured, formal, or traditional. Full of life, yet still calm. Tall order? Maybe.

Are you ready to see it now? EEEEE! This is my favorite part!!

Have you ever dug into the furniture that Home Depot has on their site? YOU. GUYS. They have an entire sister company called Home Decorators Collection and it is SO good!! In fact, everything in this room makeover is from Home Depot!! I know what you’re thinking. The Midcentury table? YES! The Modern Wire chairs? YES! That KILLER rug?!?!! YESSSSSS!!! (Don’t worry, I’ll link everything below!)

We took a few hours at the beginning and tiled the backsplash with basic white subway tile that your local Home Depot will have in stock (remember how I’m currently obsessed with that?) It immediately took the builder basic feel away. This is a great post all about choosing the right grout color for your project!

The next project of the space was the Sharpie wall. Who doesn’t love a project that looks like custom wallpaper but only cost $8.00?

Then it was time to decorate. Aspyn’s house is like so many others. It’s got an open floorplan and the dining room is part of the kitchen so I feel like loads of you can take this makeover and plop it right into your own home. It can be little overwhelming to decorate a space especially if you are a first time homeowner like Aspyn, I mean where do you even start?!

Their original table was cute and simple but a little small for the space and the wood tone was too similar to the flooring. I swapped it out with the Conrad dining room table from Home Depot. I love the midcentury modern style and that the finish is a little warmer than the previous table but still staying on the slightly desaturated side with the antique natural mango wood finish. (Oh yes, and this heirloom piece is currently on sale for $399!!)

Because I upped the table size, it now comfortable fits 6 instead of closely sitting 4 which is perfect for entertaining!

The chairs are killer! I love brass, but I’m kind of really digging chrome lately and these pushed me over the edge!

Let’s just have a heart to heart about this rug. Guys. It’s amazing, right? One of the easiest mistakes to make when you’re decorating a dining room is the rug size. Large rugs are more expensive, but if a huge kilim is out of your budget try to layer a large and inexpensive one underneath it (sisal works great for this!) I really wanted a large sheepskin but wasn’t able to track one down (like that’s ever stopped me) so I ordered this flokati off of Home Decorators Collection and made my own by cutting the shape out.

I wanted the table decor to be something that was pretty and collected and easy to move so I put these bottles on a vintage wooden platter.

Aspyn previously had some stools at the island, but they sort of just blended in with the cabinets and countertop situation so I swapped them out for these stackable aluminum stools.

Speaking of aluminum, I added these spun aluminum lights above the island. I’m really loving the juxtaposition that’s happening in this space with the uber modern shapes and finishes and the relaxed slouchy style of others.

The back wall needed something large and simple to break up the wall pattern and finish everything off. I waited and hunted for weeks and just couldn’t find anything that was right so at the last minute (‘cause that’s how we roll) I called my friend Tyler and asked him if he had a picture of the tips of the mountains in St. George. I had it blown up and then mounted it on a simple 4×4 sheet of plywood from The Home Depot. It’s pretty perfect right!? Just the right amount of white space. You can snag it in the Vintage Revivals Shop here!

The last thing that the space needed was some plant love. If your house is lacking something and you can’t put your finger on it, chances are you need a plant friend or 2. Home Depot is the best place to buy plants, especially if you have a black thumb because they will return them for a year!! Granted it’s a little shameful to take in a pot of dirt but I promise they don’t get judgy about it.

Here’s a quick guide to all things dining room:

So tell me, were you surprised that everything came from Home Depot?!

Do you ever stop to look around your house and just think: “BLAH.” It looks like its filled with stuff. Nothing important or special, just stuff. I know that I can’t be the only one that feels like that. It got me thinking, where in my life do things feel special, solid and centered the most? I immediately thought of my Grandma’s house. It has remained completely unchanged for as long as I can remember (which, lets be honest, will never be my house cause I love buying new furniture wayyyy too much.) So the last time I was there I snapped a quick picture of my favorite place in her house, the kitchen. I tried to get one of her standing at the sink, but she caught on to what I was doing and stepped out of the shot. Fast forward a few months and my friends at Shutterfly reached out about personalizing a space with some of their fun home décor products. I knew immediately that I wanted to have this picture of my Grandma’s kitchen professionally framed, and I knew right where I wanted to hang it.

I think that nothing makes a kitchen feel more warm and inviting than a collection of cutting boards. It’s the warmth of worn wood that just gets me every time! I am OBSESSED with their marble and wood cutting board. I’ve wanted one in this style forever and was so over the moon to find that they had one! But what to put on it!? Our last name? A monogram? I was on the fence until I remembered that I could put whatever I wanted on it…

Maybe a thoughtful reminder of the importance of our appendages??

Shutterfly just launched a collection of canvas totes and I (in my never ending effort to be more organized) decided that it was a must have. There is this cute family at our church that has a bag with their last name on it that they bring every week with coloring books, snacks and small toys. Dylan is SO jealous about it. Poor girl, the only thing that she gets to color on is the margins of the program. The second that it came she had it filled to the brim with books, crayons, cereal for the baby, stuffed animals, the iPad, diapers, and fingernail polish (because she can paint her fingernails SO QUIET, MOM.)

I’ll let you know how the nail polish situation pans out..;)

It’s so fun to look around the kitchen and see things that are more special than a run of the mill print, or something generic from the store. The best part is that we’re all inspired by different things, we all have ideas of what our home should feel and be decorated like. Shutterfly has such a great launching pad for everything you could possibly want to customize for your home! Seriously, go over and check them out and get ready to have your socks knocked off!
